Crew abandon ship hit in Strait of Hormuz

The Minoan Pioneer, sailing under Liberia's flag, has been hit by an unknown projectile close to Oman’s coast while travelling through the Strait of Hormuz. The crew abandoned the vessel and one seafarer is reported missing, maritime security sources said.

British maritime security firm Vanguard said: "The projectile reportedly struck the engine room, while a fire broke out in the accommodation area. The crew are fighting the fire and require assistance, while the third engineer is reported missing".
