US to share Gaza peace plan draft with UN Security Council
The United States is set to circulate a draft resolution outlining President Donald Trump’s proposed Gaza peace plan to the ten elected members of the UN Security Council later today, Reuters reported, citing a US official.
The official said representatives from Egypt, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates will take part in discussions, framing the move as a display of “regional backing” for the US-led initiative.
The plan comes amid growing scepticism over Washington’s role, with critics accusing the US of shielding Israel from accountability while pushing a deal that entrenches its occupation rather than ending it.
